The first step in understanding
casino poker tips is that there are
the various possible poker hands. They should be dedicated
to memory, for they are very important in forming
a hand-playing strategy, and, they decide who is the
winner of a game. The following is a reduced version
of the hands as they are ranked in value.
Royal Flush Ace, king, queen, jack and 10 all of the
same suit. The highest possible straight flush. All
royal flushes are equal and split the pot in a tie.

Straight Flush Five cards of the
same suit in consecutive sequence. A straight flush
headed with the highest end card wins the hand.
Four of a kind Four cards of the
same rank and any other card. The highest ranking
'four pair' of any suit/suits wins.
Full house Three cards of one equal
rank and two cards of another equal rank. The highest
ranking 'three pair' of any suit/suits wins.
Flush Any five cards of the same
suit. Between two or more flushes, the hand with the
highest ranked card wins. If the highest cards are
of equal value, then the next highest card determines
the winner, and so on.
Straight Any five cards in ranking
sequence of any multiple suits. The straight headed
with the highest end card wins the hand.
Three of a kind Three cards of the
same rank (of any suits), and two unmatched cards.
The highest ranking 'three pair' wins the hand.

Two pair Two cards of
one equal rank, two cards of another equal rank, and any
other unmatched fifth card. The highest ranked 'two pair'
wins between two or more two-pair hands. If the high pairs
are equal, then the second pair determines the winner. If
those are tied, then the unmatched high card wins.
One Pair Two cards of equal rank and any
three unmatched cards. The highest ranking pair of any suits
wins. If the pairs are the same value between two hands,
the highest ranked unmatched card determines the winner.
If tied, the next highest, and so on.
High card All five cards are of different
ranks and suits. The highest ranked card in the hand wins.
If the highest cards are of equal rank, the next highest
card, and so on.
